Monthly Program Meetings and Field Trip
Join us the first Wednesday of every month from October to May as we learn about native plant communities and gather to propagate a diverse community of plant enthusiasts, gardeners, landscapers, scientists, and more!
Meetings begin with a 6:30pm social and 7:00pm presentation at IRSC, Chastain Campus or can be joined through Zoom. Field trips are offered the following Saturday. Field trip details will be shared in our monthly newsletter and at the meetings.

FNPS Annual Conference
The next FNPS Conference will be April 2nd - 6th 2025, at the UF Hilton in Gainesville, Florida. FNPS is currently in the planning stages, with speakers and field trips to be listed this summer. Updates will be made on the FNPS page.

St. Lucie Earth Day Festival
This is a free, family friendly event celebrating Earth Day at the Oxbow Eco Center. There are dozens of vendors offering food, drinks, activities, games, information, sustainable goods, plants, etc. Our chapter will have an outreach both at the event.

MC-FNPS Native Garden Tour
We are hosting a tour of several amazing native gardens in Martin and St. Lucie Counties to raise funds in support of our chapter’s outreach projects. We would love for you to join us to celebrate native plants! Stay tuned for more details.

Jensen Beach Garden Expo
Visit our booth at the Jensen Beach Garden Expo. The expo is a fun and educational plant and garden fair hosted by the Jensen Beach Garden Club. It features native and ornamental plants honey, whimsical garden accessories, and practical garden implements for sale. There are demonstrations throughout the day on choosing the right plants for your landscape, exotic plants that misbehave, caring for orchids, and helping bees.
Garden Expo proceeds have supported House of Hope, children's camperships at the Environmental Studies Center, and the Florida Oceanographic Society, and a college scholarship for a Jensen Beach high school student.

Aububon Birds & Butterflies Family Event
Our chapter will have an outreach booth and will be giving away free native plants, while supplies last, at the Audubon Birds & Butterflies Event.
Don't miss this free family event at the beautiful Possum Long Nature Center! This free annual event hosted by the Audubon of Martin County with a variety of fun activiites such as crafts, face painting, a wildlife wheel and more. There will be a plant give-a-way and wildlife such as birds and wildlife to meet! Children and families welcome and come dressed as your favorite bird or butterfly to be entered into a raffle!

Native Plant Expo hosted by the FNPS Palm Beach County Chapter
FNPS Palm Beach County chapter is hosting the first South Florida Native Plant Expo, a one-day conference held at Palm Beach State College Gardens Campus on PGA Blvd. The expo will host 30 speakers to talk on a wide range of native plant topics from edible natives and native groundcovers to invasive species control and hands-on propagation workshops. After the conference on February 22nd, there will be field trips lined up for Sunday, February 23rd across South Florida, so you can take your learning outside. February Program Meeting Collaboration
Our regular monthly program meeting will be co-hosted with the Sierra Club this February. The meeting will take place in our usual location at the Wolf High Technology Center, Chastain Campus at Indian River State College (2400 SE Salerno Road, Stuart, FL 34997).
Allen Dray, who earned a a Ph.D. in Biology from Florida International University in 2003, will discuss his research for the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) Mass Rearing facilities at the Agricultural Research Service (ARS)’s Invasive Plant Research Lab in Fort Lauderdale. This includes the use of Australian weevil to biologically control the invasive Melaleuca, a beetle to control the air potato and biological control of the Australian Pine.
Field trip hosted Saturday February 8th from 9:30-11. Details and registration will be available at the program meeting.

MC-FNPS Annual Plant Sale
Come shop and socialize with us at the Florida Arbor Day Celebration and MC-FNPS Annual Plant Sale. We will have a lovely selection of native plants for sale at the event. This is the Native Plant Society's biggest fundraiser of the year!
